Privacy Policy

How Shady Europe collects and uses your personal data.

Who we are

The data controller is 1903 Creative Limited, which runs shadyeurope.com.

For privacy questions, email hello@shadyeurope.com or write to 1903 Creative Limited, 17, Olive Street, St Julians STJ 1953, Malta.

We haven't appointed a data protection officer, as the law doesn't require one for a business our size.

What data we collect

When you order, contact us, make a warranty claim or join the newsletter, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, email, delivery address and order details.

We also collect your phone number if you give it at checkout, which the courier may use to arrange delivery, and any photos you send with a warranty claim. With your consent, we also learn how you use this site, through analytics cookies. We don't ask for your date of birth or any sensitive information.

Why we use it, and on what basis

To process and deliver your order and handle returns and warranty claims, because our contract with you needs it. To answer your messages, because it's in our legitimate interest to help you. To keep order and tax records, because the law requires it. To send our newsletter, only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time. To measure how the site is used and show you relevant ads, only if you accept those cookies.

Who processes it for us

Shopify (orders and payments), Resend (site emails), Google (analytics and tag management, only with your consent), Microsoft Clarity (site usage, only with your consent) and Meta (advertising, only with your consent).

Also Google Workspace (our email), Fly.io (which hosts this website in Frankfurt), the courier delivering your order, and our accountant. Some of these companies store data outside the EU. When they do, they use the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We only use analytics and marketing cookies if you agree. See our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records: for as long as Maltese tax and accounting law requires. Messages and warranty claims: up to two years after we've dealt with them. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent at any time.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt), or to the data protection authority where you live.
